Now’s the time to get ready for Medicare, so be sure to learn about Medicare and the different types of plans. It’s also important to know how your current coverage might change when you turn 65. If you currently have health coverage through an employer, ask if they offer coverage options for people 65 and older. Get tips for your specific situation.
Be sure to go through your recent health care history. Make a list of your regular doctors and prescription drugs.
Ask yourself these questions:
- What did you pay in the past year (including premiums, deductibles, co-pays, and co-insurance)?
- How many times did you go to the doctor?
- How many times did you stay in the hospital?
- Do you plan on traveling?
